To all:
I have been told by one of my co-workers that updating source (via slip-streaming an admin install point) does not work in a large enterprise environment. The reason stated was that it would mean that the machines which installed could no longer be patched directly, but instead you had to patch the AIP and then perform repairs on each machine that has the product installed. The product in question here, being Adobe Acrobat. I have an AIP patched to 9.3.2 and downloaded each and every patch up to the current version and applied all of them individually to a test machine --> updating it to the current. No issues. Has anyone else heard about using AIPs in an enterprise environment? FYI: our AIP source is stored locally on each machine so there is no server AIP for them to go back to as it is all stored locally. Thanks for any information! Kind Regards, Bsdjunkie |
