Default USB Passthrough

I believe there is a piece missing in the overall design and implementation
of USB Passthrough support...

A feature avalilable in Windows 7/Windows Virtual PC (WVPC) and not in
W2K8/Hyper-V.

And the reason it should be in Hyper-V? Hyper-V is the solution for x64
operating systems; host and DESKTOP.

I'd settle for W7 and WVPC to support x64, but that doesnt appear to be road
being taken.

The advent of USB passthrough in Windows 7/Windows Virtual PC is GREAT!

This capability enables the creation/validation of x86 W7 VHDs that require
USB (e.g. ActiveKey) devices, but similar x64 VHDs cannot as x64 is not
supported.

The current design has excluded the union of x64 and USB passthrough.

In lieu of W7/WVPC supporting x64, will Hyper-V support USB Passthrough?

I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for USB support in Hyper-V. That being
said, there are third party solutions such as Fabulatech.com that provide
USB over Network functionality that will solve most USB issues.
