I've 2 physical servers host : windows 2008 r2 guest : windows 2008 x86 Std I'm getting RPC server unavailable when trying to use computer management from host to guest or guest to host on the same physical server. If I use guest/host combination on different physical servers its working perfect. Disabling firewall etc doesn't work Any ideas ?? Filip |

Are your guest and host in the same domain? Or is this a workgroup scenario?
If you're not completely domain joined to the same domain, there's probably a configuration issue. (Disabling the firewall is almost never a successful tactic these days, btw.) The easiest way to identify and correct authentication and access issues for Hyper-V is HVRemote. Bing/Google for the current download. -- Charlie. http://msmvps.com/blogs/russel "Filip Fransen" <filip@datasupport.be> wrote in message news:9E1DD6F8-A0F8-4079-A11D-C659F556B2F9@microsoft.com... > I've 2 physical servers > host : windows 2008 r2 > guest : windows 2008 x86 Std > > I'm getting RPC server unavailable when trying to use computer management > from host to guest or guest to host on the same physical server. > If I use guest/host combination on different physical servers its working > perfect. Hi, Both are in the same same domain. HVRemote didn't solve the problem. Pinging from another host HyperV to a guest is no problem as long they are not on the same physical hardware. Didn't have this issues when using windows 2008 release 1 as host Filip "Charlie Russel - MVP" <Charlie@mvKILLALLSPAMMERSps.org> wrote in message news:urqLp1neKHA.3960@TK2MSFTNGP02.phx.gbl... > Are your guest and host in the same domain?
