Hi,
I installed Microsoft Hyper-V Server 2008 on a new hardrive (bare metal, no OS previously installed). The installation finished fine, the server is running, but I don't know how to create a new virtual machine on the server. All I read is about using a manager that is running on a remote Windows machine. Do I really need the second computer to create a virtual machine on the server? Thanks, Lubomir |

Essentially yes. While it is technically possible to create a machine using
WMI, the realistic requirement is you need the Hyper-V Manager running on a Windows Vista SP1 or Windows Server 2008 machine. -- Charlie. http://msmvps.com/blogs/xperts64 http://mvp.support.microsoft.com/profile/charlie.russel "Lubomir" <Lubomir@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:6B87522C-4B50-4C37-A78F-7F1CAA7CB290@microsoft.com... > Hi, > > I installed Microsoft Hyper-V Server 2008 on a new hardrive (bare metal, > no > OS previously installed). > > The installation finished fine, the server is running, but I don't know > how > to create a new virtual machine on the server.
