Goals:
-setup virtual network that mirrors actual network but keeps both networks seperate. -prevent from screwing up my works network while I set this up/experiment in the setup. -are loopback adapter IPs that have routable addresses visible to my network (just checking) or will they interfere with my computers connection to those real IPs that are duplicated via loopback adapter? I guess what I need is a thourough tutorial on how a loopback adapter works. |

first off, are talking about hyperv, virtual server 2005...?
HV: virtual network may be your friend: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/l...#BKMK_ConfigVN VS 2005 R2: again virtual network: Creating a virtual network: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/l...55(WS.10).aspx for additional details search the web for "virtual network" + " your choice of virtualization platform" using bing or google on microsoft.com can you use loop back adaptor with virtual network? yes. however if -you already have two or more nic, -you are only using one and not having real network connection of any of you vm, why not save some work and just use additional NIC you already have?
