I have 2 identical servers that will be at 2 locations connected with a T1
point to point. I am trying to figure out my best option. The second server will basically be a disaster recovery box in case something happens to the first. Should I use virualization or could I setup some sort of clustering? I will be using Windows Hyper V if I go with virtualization. Any suggestions will be great. |

That is entirely up to you, and depends on your requirements. There is no "right" solution that fits every case. Is it a DC? A virtual machine is fine for a backup DC. If you want them clustered, then "hardware" has to be the same, so virtualization is out of the question. |

What is the current size of the data set and the rate of change? Having a hot standby server is a great idea and virtualization can certainly make your recovery process easier. Send more details and we can help put together your best solution. |
