Hi, I recently got my new PC, and installed the Hype-V Virtual server on it, running “Windows Server 2008 R2 64bit”. I have never had any problem with Hyper-V, but on this new hardware: Intel® Core™ i7 CPU 920 @ 2.67GHz, 12GB RAM My problem with this hardware is, that if I set my virtual machines (all running Windows XP SP3) to use 2 CPU’s, I seem to get an 100% utilization all the time on the virtual machines (3/4 running instances) doing nothing but DPC calls! The server is doing nearly nothing except that one of the server CPU has a 100% utilization – the others, doing nothing! What is going on, and what am I doing wrong? -- Jens Søe Christiansen |

I have the same issue. CPU i7 930, 6GbRAM, Server 2008 R2 64-bit, Virtual Machine is XP SP3 with Virtual Additions installed, 4Gb RAM, and 1-4CPUs (same problem with 1, 2, 3, or 4 CPUs). I have found that pausing the virtual machine and resuming right away clears the problem. even Sysinternals Process Explorer pauses but when system resumes I notice the spike to 100% on DPCs.
