SMS 2003 SP3 Collections

Hi

I wonder if you've any ideas on this one?

We have an enormous SMS site with several secondary sites within it.

We have a proble here where the collections just don't seem to update with direct of query based membership.
We've updated manually, and left it for the schedule to run.
This problem has only occurred in the last few days, as we have a fully populated DB with plenty of collcetion memberships elsewhere but something seems to have gone wrong somewhere.

The SQL DB is ok checked with dbcc, and the settings within SMS are good, no changes made to them.

The system is pretty unusable in this state and we're under a fair bit of pressure now to try and sort it out.

Any help you can offer would be very gratefully received.

I installed the client to all machines by right clicking the collection
group "All windows server 2003 systems" and choosing install client.

check this by looking for the service SMS Agent Host, also check that
the service is running.

In the control panel of your you find a cpl for SMS, on the advanced
tab you can do a site discovery, is that finding the correct site? For
this to work logon to the domain on the client.

Did you configure a Management Point and a Server Locator Point on
your Site server?

server locator point are both configured. It's strange, the properties of
the servers in the collections area has all the relevant site information
they just don't show up in the collection area as being installed.

Never a stupid question.... I came in this morning and all the data was
correct in the collection window. I guess the discovery that ran last night
updated that information. I've only used SMS one other time (about a month
or so)and I don't recall ever having to click the update collection
membership, but after sending the client to my desktop and the data not
appearing update collection membership did the trick.
