Default NLB

Hi,

I don't have much experience with NLB. A customer of me wants to upgrade
from SMS 2003 SP2 to SP3.

The design looks like some Primary sites with the default MP and underneath
2 servers with each an assinged MP.

My question is what the impact will be for thease assinged MP's when
upgrading to SP3? I suppose I only need to install SP3 on the site sytems?
Do I need to do something with assigned MP roles regarding the SP upgrade?

Some advice would be very appreciated!

Thanks

Nico

Default RE: NLB

I'm not an expert at MPs behind NLBs on SMS2003; I could stumble through in a
pinch. I know of several people who are though, but they hang out more over
on the myitforum forums: http://www.myitforum.com/forums/forumid_130/tt.htm
Perhaps you could re-post your question over there?

The one thing I have heard several times is along the lines of "MPs behind
NLBs are annoying because you have to tear down the NLB and rebuild it after
every upgrade". I know that statement definitely applied to when upgrading
SQL (Service Pack for example). And I suspect it also applied to a SP to
SMS2003 itself as well--but I'm not certain. So I encourage you to post on
Myitforum and hopefully someone with more in the trenches knowledge will be
able to answer definitively.

Thanks Sherry for the tip.
I'll post over there.
That is indeed a huge impact! Hope you are mistaken :-)

Tnx
