Default how to remove a secondary site server cleanly

we are closing a remote office which has a secondary SMS 2003 site server.
How to remove it properly so it won't leave anything objects in the AD? Any
reference to an article, white paper or KB will be fine too.

Thanks.

btw. We are not going to remove AD site and subnet right now since someone
will still work there for a few more weeks. But need to decommission some
servers.
